HI my name is xxxx I'm 39 years old and I have aspergers, anxiety and depression and dyslexia, and I'm currently studying towards a part-time psychology degree with the open university. Due to sensory issues and many other reasons a brick uni is not an option for me, I have been enjoying my studies with the ou but unfortunately due to lack of maintenance loans for long distance learners, I will not be able to continue with my studies in the near future, this has had a huge impact on my mental health, as I no longer have any ambition for my future. Why can't it be possible for those with disabilities to have better maintainance loans for part-time learning, as studying full-time is too difficult for me with my dyslexia.
